Proud to Be American

Kurt PerkinsI am proud of my country and believe there is no better place on earth to live. However, we must remember that freedom isn’t free. Our past struggles from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War II, and right up to the War on Terror prove that for freedom there is a high price to be paid. Be assured that I will always do everything in my power to support our soldiers, veterans, and local emergency, fire, and police departments.

My passion for America is that all people will have equal opportunity. No man has the right to take from one person and redistribute to another. As American’s we need to protect the culture we have inherited from our forefathers. That heritage is one of the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Everyday that we allow people to break our laws and come into our country illegally, we dilute our culture and jeopardize our future generations. We are a nation of immigrants, but of legal ones. We must make sure that people who wish to be a part of our country and state share common goals of free enterprise, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. These immigrants must be resolved to learn the common language and uphold our Constitution.
